Table Football Guide

Table football is a hugely popular game with kids and adults. It’s fun, friendly and something everyone can join in with. There are loads football tables out there, with all kinds of great designs; sleek, classic, fun - in fact whatever takes your fancy. However outside of design there are a few other important features that need to be considered.

1. Size

When you are buying, particularly for children it’s essential to be sure that the height of the table is one the kids can reach. There are also quite a few adjustable tables available, which is a great option for a home full of little and big kids alike.

2. Safety

Table football can be extremely fast paced which means that the actual football is going to be flying around all over the place. So it’s a good idea to choose a table with a glass top that makes sure the football is kept on the pitch, and fun to a maximum.

Nearly all football tables now come with telescopic rods, not solid rods. These rods do not pass through the table wall, ensuring that neither players nor spectators get hurt in all the excitement.

3. Structure

Table football is a big investment and so it’s important to make sure its one that lasts. A strong table will not only enhance gaming but also ensure that the table withstands years of play. So look out for football tables made of hardwearing sturdy materials like solid wood or thick ply with metal cross braces. Also check the weight of the table, the heavier the better.

If you are considering using the football table outside, then make sure it is weatherproof.

4. Bushes and Ball Bearings

Also to reduce the wear and tear of the table, it is a good idea to choose rods with bushes and ball bearings. Not only will this ensure high-speed action and smoother play but also reduce wear and maintenance.

5. Field Surface

Some football tables have very slippery surfaces, which will make it difficult to control the ball and manoeuvre with precision. The ball surface will equally affect the quality of the game.
